RCSI College Archive

Founded in 1897, Hayes, Conyngham and Robinson Pharmaceutical Chemists started as a family-run business and went on to become one of the largest Irish-owned pharmacy chains in Ireland. The last of its shops on Grafton Street closed in 1998. The collection contains the corporate, administrative and financial records of the company as well as photographs, artefacts and personal papers of family members and staff associated with Hayes, Conyngham and Robinson Pharmaceutical Chemists.

Annual reports and statements of account issued by RCSI Council, 1844-1961. The Council governance structure was instituted in 1844 under the terms of a Supplemental Royal Charter granted by Queen Victoria. This Charter abolished the previous governance structure of Censors and Assistants instituted in 1784 and mandated regular reporting to the Fellows of the College. The first Annual Report of Council was published this same year in 1844. Annual Reports were published in the same format until 1961.

Founded in 1974, the RCSI Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery is one of the longest-serving providers of postgraduate nursing education in Ireland.

RCSI School of Surgery and Medical School handbooks. Handbooks include: course descriptions, curricula, timetables, fees; information relating to examinations; available scholarships and prizes as well as list of winning names for the preceding academic year; details of College Departments and lists of departmental staff and officers. Titled 'RCSI School of Surgery Handbook including Carmichael and Ledwich Schools' before 1965. Titled 'RCSI Medical School Handbook' after 1965. Before 1932, handbooks are predominantly bound with supplementary material and information relating to RCSI as part of the 'RCSI Calendar'. There are gaps in this series spanning 1886-1910, 1924-1932, 1975-1977.
